Ironwood Real Estate was formed in 2002 by Matthew Hooks and Scot Krieger. Mr. Hooks manages Ironwood's leasing and brokerage activities and is primarily responsible for identifying the firm's future investments. Mr. Krieger oversees Ironwood's development, construction, financial, and accounting efforts. Both principals are active in building relationships with Ironwood's institutional and individual investors. Together, Mr. Hooks and Mr. Krieger have over 60 years of experience in commercial real estate.
Matthew Hooks
Mr. Hooks is active in professional and civic organizations, including the Real Estate Council of Austin, the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Downtown Austin Alliance (former board member), the Austin Commercial Real Estate Society, the Nature Conservancy (Austin advisory board member), the Dell Children's Trust of Central Texas (founding member), and The University of Texas School of Architecture (former board member). Mr. Hooks received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Scot Krieger
Mr. Krieger is involved as a member of the Real Estate Council of Austin (former board member), the Real Estate Council of San Antonio, the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Austin Duke University Alumni Club (board member), The University of Texas at Austin Longhorn Foundation Advisory Council, and The University of Texas System Chancellor's Council. He has served as a guest lecturer at The University of Texas McCombs School of Business and The University of Texas School of Law on real estate and finance topics. Mr. Krieger is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke University, having received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and History. He also earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
Casey R. Kopecky
Mr. Kopecky directs most of Ironwood's leasing and brokerage activities. In this position, he specializes in retail tenant representation, project representation, and development throughout Texas. Prior to joining Ironwood Real Estate in 2015, Mr. Kopecky was an Assistant Vice President with the Weitzman Group in its Austin Office. Prior to joining the Weitzman Group, he worked as an Associate at United Commercial Realty, where he handled landlord and tenant representation in and around the San Antonio market. He is a member of the Real Estate Council of Austin, International Council of Shopping Centers, Texas Wildlife Association, Coastal Conservation Association, and is on the Board of Directors for the Travis County Municipal Utility District No. 18. Mr. Kopecky earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.
Jeff Lewis
Mr. Lewis joined Ironwood in 2023 as a Principal. In this position, he handles capital markets and general brokerage, which includes investment properties, land acquisitions and dispositions, project representation, and tenant representation. Prior to joining Ironwood, Mr. Lewis was a Senior Vice President with Weitzman in its Austin Office. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Real Estate Council of Austin. Mr. Lewis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The University of Texas in Austin.
Cade Knebel
Mr. Knebel joined Ironwood in 2021 as an associate, primarily focused on brokerage activities. Prior to joining Ironwood, he worked as an agent in student leasing for 4 years and as a Business Development Consultant at Oracle. Mr. Knebel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising and a minor in Business Administration with honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
Amye Cervenka
Ironwood welcomed Ms. Cervenka in 2022 as Director of Operations. Prior to joining Ironwood, Ms. Cervenka was Assistant Vice President – Administration and Brokerage for the Austin office of Weitzman. Amye began her career in commercial real estate in 2010 and received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management/Marketing from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University.
Brenda Weber, CPM®
Ms. Weber is the Director of Property Management and oversees all financial and physical aspects of the property management division. She began her career in real estate with CB Richard Ellis in Honolulu in 1987 and continued her work in Austin with Transwestern Property Management and Trammell Crow Company before joining Ironwood in 2006.
Lori Scott
Ms. Scott is responsible for all accounting matters at Ironwood. She earned a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Oklahoma. Formerly a part of the accounting team at Lonquist & Co., she joined Ironwood in April of 2022.
Tyler Weber
Mr. Weber joined Ironwood in 2022 as Assistant Property Manager. Tyler graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and a Bachelor of Business in Sports Management.
